In an effort to ensure all of Jasper’s residents are toasty warm this winter, Community Outreach Services (COS) is launching a new program called the Jasper Coat Rescue.
Beginning this week, COS is selling new and lightly used winter jackets by donation, with all of the proceeds going toward this year’s Santas Anonymous campaign.
Through a partnership with Lole’s Yellow Label Program—which offers shoppers a discount when they donate a lightly used winter jacket—COS has received dozens of coats for adults and children.
“This program is a great way to keep perfectly good coats out of the landfill, at the same time keeping people warm and fundraising for Santas Anonymous. Really, it’s a win-win-win for our community,” said Beth Leblanc, COS manager.
The sale is open Monday to Friday between 9am and 4:30pm, downstairs in the Community Outreach Services office: 627 Patricia St.
At this time, COS is not accepting coat donations, however, if community members would like to donate a coat they can bring it to Lole: 616 Patricia St.
