Small train near the Old Fire Hall

Please note that the small train near the Old Fire Hall was removed on January 30 and placed in storage.

The Municipality of Jasper transferred the Old Fire Hall lease back to Parks Canada as a heritage site for interpretive programs a few years ago. Parks Canada has since requested that the train be moved to another location so the site can be used for interpretive programs.

The Municipality is in contact with the family who donated the train to discuss its future. Depending on the outcome of those conversations, this matter will return to Council for further discussion. No funding has been approved or expended at this time. If the train's future includes becoming playground equipment, it would need to be updated to meet playground standards.
