There is no remuneration for sitting on these volunteer boards. Also, in accordance with Council policy, all candidates for appointment shall have been residents of the community of Jasper for a minimum of six months prior to application.
Community and Family Services Board
The Community and Family Services Board is involved in community development projects such as the Jasper Community Team, Community Outreach Services, Jasper Centre for Early Childhood Learning and Care: Meeting of the Waters, Children's Indoor Play Group, Out of School Care, summer programs for children, and social issues that affect the community of Jasper. If you have a few hours to spare each month, consider applying. Terms of appointment are for two years, commencing January 1st.

Culture and Recreation Board
The Jasper Culture and Recreation Board is involved with the provision of a broad range of culture and recreation programmes and the operation of recreational grounds, parks, the Activity Centre, the Arena and the Aquatic Centre. Terms of appointment are for two years, commencing January 1st.

Green Space Planning Committee
The goal of the Green Space Planning Committee is to beautify the town. Members are currently involved in implementing action items identified in the Green Space Plan for the Town of Jasper, approved by Council in 2004. The first action item, the Town Perimeter Trail, is nearing completion. Other action items include improvements to medians and boulevards and improvements to the town entrances. Jasper has also recently become a participating member in the Alberta 'Communities in Bloom' program. Committee members represent themselves as individuals and as members of the community at large. No representation is sought or accepted from local organizations or associations.

Jasper Environmental Stewardship Advisory Committee
The Environmental Stewardship Advisory Committee will act as a cooperative link between citizens, Parks Canada and local government to provide leadership and guidance to the Environmental Stewardship Program. The committee will provide advice on environmental stewardship issues with the goal of better serving the needs of the community and Jasper National Park. Committee members will share a commitment to environmental stewardship and have the common goal of preserving and enhancing our community in a manner consistent with the Municipality of Jasper Vision Statement and the values of Parks Canada. The committee shall endeavour to create a sense of stewardship within the community and the park.

Jasper Health Advisory Committee
The Jasper Health Advisory Committee was created in response to the elimination of Community Health Councils by the Aspen Regional Health Authority. The committee will assist and advise Council on matters related to the provision of health services in the community of Jasper. The mandate of the Jasper Health Advisory Committee is detailed in Bylaw #053, the Municipality of Jasper Health Advisory Committee Bylaw , available on the website under Bylaws. The Board consists of five members, made up of four residents of the Municipality of Jasper and one Council member.

The Jasper Municipal Library Board is an operational board responsible for the operations, budgets, and staffing of the Jasper Municipal Library. Terms of appointment are for three years, commencing January 1st.
