Culture & Recreations facilities have reopened 

The Fitness Centre, Aquatic Centre and Activity Centre reopened on September 21, 2020.  

Each facility is following provincial health regulations and operating with new hours. Users must book a one-hour time slot prior to using the gym or swim lanes. 

We thank you for continued patience and kindness as we navigate the reopening of facilities. 

Jasper Activity Centre 

Current hours of operation

  • Monday to Friday: 12 pm - 8 pm
  • Saturday and Sunday: 1 pm - 8 pm 

Face coverings and masks 

Face coverings are required in all indoor public places, including the Activity Centre. However, people may temporarily remove their face covering or mask when engaged in physical activity or seated and eating at a table. We are asking that no more than six people sit together at one table. Detailed signage is placed in respective municipal facilities, indicating when and where a mask or face covering must be worn.

Visitor tracking 

In the event of an outbreak, we’re asking users to sign-in to the Fitness and Aquatic Centre using a QR code, which has been placed on the entrance of the facility. Please ask staff if you need assistance.

Squash and racquetball court 

Squash and racquetball courts are currently closed due to unexpected required maintenance.

Jasper Fitness and Aquatic Centre 

Current hours of operation

Aquatic Centre

  • Everyday: 3:30pm – 5:30pm and 6pm – 8pm for recreational swim
  • Monday to Friday: 12pm – 2pm for lane swim and Parent & Tot

Fitness Centre 

  • Monday to Friday: 11am – 9pm
  • Saturday and Sunday: 1:45pm – 8:30pm

Reservation System 

For your safety we will be operating a little differently. As of September 21, we will be accepting patrons back for pre-booked one-hour gym times, climbing wall sessions, and lane swims.  

Gym, swimming lane, or climbing sessions can be booked in one hour blocks per person up to four days in advance. To start, we are only accepting bookings by phone or in person at the front desk. Reservation requests made through Facebook messenger will not be considered at this time.

Detailed signage is placed in respective municipal facilities, indicating when and where a mask must be worn.

Waterslide 

The new water slide has been installed and is fully operational. 

Regulations

Children eight-years and under must have a guardian in the facility who is 14 years or older. A facility swim test is required to be in chest deep or deeper water.  All children unable to pass the facility swim test, and all children five-years and under must have a guardian, who is at least 14 years or older within arms’ reach at all times.

Programs

Due to the complexity of the situation and resources required, it could take a few months before we offer any programming like swimming lessons and Aquafit. We will continuously evaluate how things are progressing. If things are going well, we can then consider reactivating programs.
